Recovering a table stuck inside a PDF (invoice, bank statement, financial report, price list) is a daily time sink — retyping each cell manually is painful. Online converters (Smallpdf, iLovePDF, PDF24, ZAMZAR) upload your documents to foreign servers, making the tool unusable for financial or client data.

ModySign analyses the PDF directly in your browser with pdfjs-dist and rebuilds the cells → rows → columns matrix via the X/Y position of each text fragment, then generates a .xlsx via the `xlsx` library. No upload, no server trace, zero leak risk.

Our column detection is intentionally simple: very good on clean tables (invoices, statements, structured lists), decent on average tables, imperfect on tables with merged cells or irregular columns. The raw output usually just needs a quick cleanup in Excel — far faster than retyping everything.

Is extraction quality perfect?+

On simple tables (invoices, price lists, clean bank statements), yes — the result is directly usable. On complex tables with merged cells, very tight columns or irregular layouts, expect some manual cleanup. That is the trade-off of browser-side extraction — for top-tier quality on complex tables, Adobe Acrobat or Tabula remain superior.

Is my financial data sent to your servers?+

No, never. Extraction and .xlsx generation happen entirely in your browser via pdfjs-dist and xlsx.js. Your data NEVER leaves your machine — unlike Smallpdf, iLovePDF, PDF24 or ZAMZAR which upload documents to their foreign servers.

One Excel sheet per PDF page?+

Yes. Each PDF page becomes one sheet of the workbook, named 'Page 1', 'Page 2', and so on. If you have a 20-page report with one table per page, you get 20 cleanly separated sheets.

Which software can open the generated file?+

The file is a standard .xlsx, openable in Microsoft Excel, LibreOffice Calc, Google Sheets, Numbers (Apple) and every modern spreadsheet.

What if my PDF is scanned?+

A scanned PDF holds no extractable text — only images. Conversion will yield empty sheets. Run our OCR PDF tool first to turn the scan into a searchable PDF, then come back here to extract the tables.
