FRENCH & GDPR-COMPLIANT ALTERNATIVE

ModySign: the alternative to DocuSign

If your data matters, so do your signatures. French hosting, GDPR-compliant, 3× cheaper — all the essential features included.

No credit card. No commitment.

Why switch from DocuSign to ModySign?

100% French hosting

Your documents are stored in France (Supabase EU + Vercel EU). DocuSign hosts everything in the United States, subject to the CLOUD Act which lets US authorities access your data without notifying you.

3× cheaper

Starter at €9/month with ModySign vs $35/month with DocuSign (~€32). For 1 user and 50 documents/month, you save ~€280/year.

Native GDPR compliance

ModySign respects GDPR by design (processing register, right to be forgotten, downloadable DPA). DocuSign offers "best effort" compliance but is subject to US law in case of conflict.

PDF editing included

ModySign includes a complete PDF editor (text, drawing, shapes, highlighting, stamps). DocuSign requires a separate product (DocuSign Edit) billed on top.

AES-256 encryption included

Local AES-256-GCM encryption on all plans. With DocuSign, advanced encryption is reserved for Enterprise plans (€200+/month).

French interface, French support

The entire interface, documentation and customer support are in French. DocuSign has a French interface, but top-tier support goes through English.

Frequently asked questions

Can ModySign really replace DocuSign?+

For 95% of business use cases (quotes, commercial contracts, HR agreements, leases), yes — ModySign covers simple eIDAS electronic signatures, remote sending, multi-signer flows and the audit trail. For cases that require advanced or qualified signatures (eIDAS level 2-3, notarial deeds), you need a complementary certified solution.

Why is DocuSign data a problem?+

DocuSign is a US company subject to the CLOUD Act (2018 law) that allows US authorities to demand access to any data stored by a US company, even if hosted in Europe. Concretely, a confidential commercial contract signed via DocuSign can be read by US authorities without you being notified. With ModySign (French SAS, France hosting), this risk doesn't exist.

How much money will I save by switching to ModySign?+

For 1 user: ~€280/year (Starter ModySign at €9/month vs DocuSign Personal at €32/month). For 5 users: ~€1100/year (Pro ModySign at €19/month vs DocuSign Standard at €100/month equivalent). For 15 users: ~€2400/year.

How do I migrate my documents and workflows from DocuSign?+

Signed PDFs remain valid for life — you have nothing to migrate (eIDAS signatures are legally enforceable whether the platform still exists or not). For ongoing workflows (pending signatures), cancel DocuSign after completing them and recreate the templates in ModySign. We can help you migrate if needed, just contact us.

What does the ModySign free trial include?+

14 days, access to all features (editing, signing, remote signing, team, API, audit trail), no credit card required. At the end of the trial, you either choose a paid plan (starting at €9/month) or your account is deactivated at no cost.
